Born in Piacenza d'Adige and lives in Este (Padova, Italy). After classical studies by the Salesian University in Bologna and began studying voice with tenor Danilo Cestari and his musical studies with Maestro Adriano Bassi Montagnana. In 1986 after winning four contests lyric: City of Adria, Naples, Alexandria and Verdi Voices of Busseto, he begins brilliant career.
He debuted in 1987 at the Theatre of Alexandria in Lucia di Lammermoor with soprano Tiziana Fabbricini and specialised at the 'Academy of Busseto ‘ with Maestro Carlo Bergonzi.
In the same year, he debuted in La Forza del Destino and in 1988 Il Corsaro in Busseto.
In 1989 he won "The International Voice Competition Luciano Pavarotti Opera Company of Philadelphia", which debuted in Luisa Miller. Inaugurates the Montreal International Music Festival with La Petite Messe Solennelle by Rossini and in Macbeth with soprano Ghena Dimitrova in Palm Beach and directed by Maestro Anton Guadagno. The entries will also receive awards in Verona, the Lauri Volpi in Rome and Palladio in Vicenza. In 1990 he debuted in Nabucco at the Theater of Taormina with soprano Ghena Dimitrova and bariton Piero Cappuccilli and Tosca at the 'Opera in Dublin. In 1991 he partecipated in the concert world vision "Telemaratona" to St. Petersburg and he debuted in Il Trovatore at the Theater of Petruzzelli in Bari, and later in Palm Beach with soprano Katia Ricciarelli under the direction of Maestro Anton Guadagno. In 1992 he debuted in Un Ballo in Maschera at the Theater in Dublin and in 1993 Verdi's Requiem Mass for the reopening of the Berlin Cathedral. In 1998 he debuted in Cavalleria Rusticana at the Theater of Opera in Dijon, in 1999 Norma in Madrid and in 2000 Madama Butterfly in France.
In 2001, He represented the Theater of Opera in Rome at the “Festival Ave Verdi " held at the theater in Kiev (Ukraine) where he was awarded "The Golden Fortune", a prestigious international award for artistic merit.
In 2004 he received the "El Strapadovan" Identity by the Department of the Veneto Province in Padova.
In 2006 he debuted at the Theater of Verdi in Padova in "I due Foscari" with bariton Paul Gavanelli.
In 2008 opened the new theater of "Tullio Serafin" in Cavarzere with soprano Raina Kabaiwanska.
For thirteen years has been artistic director of the international event "Voci liriche sotto le stelle - Premio Giovanni Martinelli ". In 2009 after the successes in Korea with Madame Butterfly it is confirmed character even with Tosca, Cavalleria Rusticana and Turandot. Recently concluded a tour of concerts in Manila (Philippines) and Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan,etc.
After the international success achieved in the West, Maurizio has been often a protagonist in the East: Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan and Philippines as well. In 2012, he inaugurated the new Busan theatre (Korea), where he interpreted “Cavaradossi” in Tosca together with the soprano Francesca Patané. In 2013 on the occasion of the Verdi bicentenary, he interpreted “Manrico” in the Trovatore (The Troubadour) in the teatro dei Marsi of Avezzano (Abruzzo).
